How Does Wireless Internet Work?
First lets talk about how things are installed at your home or office. A CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) radio is attached on the roof and CAT5 wire is run from the radio to the POE Injector, a small box that is approximately 2” X 1.5” in size, inside your home or office. From the POE injector, CAT5 wire runs from the injector to the router box. The router is the point of connection for your computer to access the Internet and will allow for mutiple computer to be connected at the same time.
Your computer(s) can then connect to the router via a wired or wireless connection. Typically for desktops, a wired connection is used and for laptops a wireless signal is used. Both desktops and laptop can be connected by either method. The router can also be used to hookup things like printers, gaming systems and other network cabaple machines.
What Kinds of Speeds can I get?

Do I need a phone line?
No you do not need a phone line. You can even use VOIP with Pure Wireless service.
My Negiborhood/Home Owner Association has reglautions against antennas
FCC amendment 00-366 pertaining to Section 207 of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 states that community associations, such as homeowners associations, do not have the authority to regulate the installation of wireless devices on a private residence. This means that Pure Wireless can install an anteanna at your house regaudless on any convents that may cover your neighborhood.
Why isn't Pure Wireless in my area?
Pure Wireless needs to have an Access Point in your area. We build our network out on demand, so please submit your infomation on our sign up page. If enough interest is generated in one are we will build an access point in that area.
Will I have wireless service inside my house?
Pure Wireless does install a wireless router by default. This is a basic wireless router, if you have special needs we do provide advanced routers for an addtional fee, ask the installing tech about that. Also we can install any special parts needed to connect to the Internet at an hourly rate, your installing tech can guide you through that. Most computers do not need anything special as most computers have everything already built into them. The tech will advise you of anything unique before they start the install.
Installtion FAQs
Does Pure Wireless do in home installs?
Yes, it is part of the service. Our set up fees cover this process, unless extraordinary installation methods have to be used for which there is a charge of $30.00 per hour with a minimum one hour. The tech will adivse you on the before the installation begins.
How does an installtion work?
First a Pure Wireless technition will verify that adquate signal can be obtained. Then a CPE radio will be installed on the roof or eves of your house. A CAT5 cable is run on the exterior of the house and a small (3/8") hole is drilled from the inside to the outside of the house for the cable to run through. The cable is then connected to a POE injector which is connected to your router (see "How Does Wireless Internet Work?" above) We will test the Internet before we go to ensure that every thing is working properly.
